Paving the way for entrepreneurs to start up a business using solar for the agri-fishery market
EnergyLab Asia is proud to have successfully completed a unique Clean Tech Start-up incubator and accelerator program. We empowered nearly 200 entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector to access and market solar technologies, and strengthen their business management capacity. The program launched 19 solar tech-startups into the marketplace with their creative technological solutions. 70% of them are still very active in the market as of 2025. We also assisted 13 solar tech startups to obtain “Seed Investment Grants” to support their marketing, prototyping, and operational expenses.

Hackathons are an efficient, low risk, low cost way to encourage innovation, catalyse startups and engage talent in the clean energy sector.
The Challenges
Energy is predominantly used in three different areas; cooking, electricity and transportation. However, in Cambodia clean energy in these areas is adopted. Most of the energy used in these are hydropower and coal in electricity use, wood and LPG in cooking and fossil fuel for transportation.
How might we design an innovative project, policy, technology or startup solution that integrates clean energy to help create access to reliable, affordable and sustainable energy services?
